What is the difference between Georgia Cremation Centers, a cremation society, and a funeral home offering cremation services?
In the State of Georgia, a facility can only use the term crematory if it has an on-site crematory. So any facility with cremation service or cremation services in its name does not have its own crematory. Therefore, the facility must contract with a third-party crematory that may cremate for as many as 15 - 20 other area funeral homes.
Georgia Cremation Centers is not a third-party crematory, and we choose to offer cremation services only to our client families. Since our crematory is on-site, your loved one remains in our care from the moment we take him/her into our care until the process is complete and the cremated remains are returned to you.
A cremation society is typically a cremation provider who like Georgia Cremation Centers offers cremation services at a significantly lower price than the traditional funeral homes. However, most cremation societies require you to pay a membership fee to receive a discounted members cremation rate. Georgia Cremation Centers does not believe in membership fees. We offer the same low price to everyone!
